Nasarawa APC Chairman
Nigerians have reacted over the death of the State Chairman of the All Progressives Congress in Nasarawa State, Philip Shekwo, in the hands of kidnappers.
Channels Television reported that Shekwo, who was kidnapped in the late hours of Saturday, was found dead not far from his house in Lafia, the state capital.
Reacting to the development, some Nigerians on social media condemned his killing, while describing it as sad and unfortunate.
They called on the government to ensure that those behind the dastardly act were brought to book.
Jonathan
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) is bickering over a visit by governors of the All Progressives Congress (APC) to former President Goodluck Jonathan.
National Publicity Secretary of the PDP, Kola Ologbondiyan, while trying to score a cheap political point, said in a statement on Sunday that the visit by the governors was a way of affirming that Nigeria, as a nation, was better under the governance of his party.
But a cross-section of Nigerians who reacted to the statement, said it was not a big deal to visit a past president when marking his birthday. They said APC governors did what their counterparts in the PDP could not do for Jonathan, who is a PDP member. This, they added, was rather a plus to the APC.
APC governors were on Friday led to Jonathan’s residence in Abuja by Yobe State Governor and Acting National Chairman of the Party, Mai Mala Buni.
Others at the meeting included Ebonyi State governor, David Umahi; Kebbi State governor and Chairman of the Progressives Governors’ Forum, Atiku Bagudu; and Jigawa State governor, Abubakar Badaru.
